Supersql

Privacy

Supersql connects straight from your Mac, iPhone or iPad to your databases and reads your files where they are. No account.

  • Your data stays between you and your databases. Queries go from your device to the database, the file or the service you chose. Supersql has no server that receives your rows.
  • Passwords stay in your Keychain. A connection’s password, key or token is kept in this device’s Keychain, or in iCloud Keychain when you choose it for that connection. It is never sent to us.
  • Signing in to PlanetScale, Supabase or Cloudflare goes through id.supersql.app, which adds the secret only a server can keep and passes the service’s tokens back to the app, sealed so that only your app can open them. It keeps nothing.
  • Ask in words uses Apple’s model: on your device, or on Apple’s Private Cloud Compute when Use Apple’s Server is on in Settings. Your question and the names of your tables go to Apple’s model only, never to us.
  • What the columns are, with Pro. To say what each column holds and how sure it is, Pro sends the query, each column’s type and a few of its values to our API, api.supersql.app, which reads them with a model on Cloudflare and keeps nothing. With your own jev key they go to jev instead. Without either, the reading happens on your device and nothing is sent.
  • Agents reach your databases through Supersql on your Mac, never through us.
  • Crash reports. When Supersql crashes or freezes, the crash report (where in the code it happened, the app and system version) is sent to our own diagnostics service. It never contains a query, a connection, a table or a value.
  • Usage data. Anonymous counts of how Supersql is used go to our own analytics service: the first launch, the first query that returned rows, the Pro screen and purchases, one count a day, and the screen size, appearance and accessibility settings. They carry a random install id that is not linked to you, and never a query, a connection’s name or host, a table, a column or a value. Turn them off in Settings › Usage Data.
  • Purchases are handled by Apple. We see no card and no Apple ID.
